"After 100 years of use in marine emergencies around the world, Lloyd's Form remains the most frequently used salvage agreement."
Stainless Dolphine
In late 2005 salvors responded to the 4,200 DWT chemical/oil carrier Stainless Dolphin, grounded north of Evia, Greece. The casualty was refloated and taken to Stylida for redelivery.

Lloyd’s Form (LOF) is the world’s most frequently used form of salvage agreement. LOF seeks to encourage and support best practice in protecting the environment and preserving life and property at sea.

This International Salvage Union site describes LOF’s history and purpose, provides an overview of when the contract is needed and describes the agreement and its main characteristics. It also sets out vital information for use by Masters and owners in emergency situations.
